The meeting was open to members and non-members and featured an opening fast pitch by LAVA Member, Kaylyn Thornal, Founder/CEO of Fanzooloo. Keynote remarks were delivered by Cornerstone OnDemand, Founder and CEO, Adam Miller. “We believe that the theme of this year’s event – ‘Emphasis on Start-up Companies ’ – reflects the need of start-up entrepreneurs to understand the challenging financing landscape in today’s marketplace,” said LAVA executive director Len Lanzi. LAVA has placed a renewed emphasis on meeting the needs of start-up companies seeking financing. The 2012 ICC program will feature two panels covering current Venture Start-up financing trends and the implications of Crowd funding as a means of company financing. “Crowd Funding is the world's largest impact investment opportunity we have seen since the stock market was created. Imagine entrepreneurs can directly have the crowd dictate what they want before manufacturing occurs," says David Drake, Founder of The Soho Loft (a LDJ Capital Holding company) and panelist on the crowd funding panel. “We aspire to be the world leaders on crowd funding speaking and education.
